Masking Guidance
Beginning Wednesday, March 12, the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics is moving from masking required to MASKING RECOMMENDED due to recent data showing a decrease in RSV and influenza cases in Chicago.
Masking Recommended Guidelines
- Masks are recommended for all staff with direct face-to-face contact with patients.
- Masks are recommended for all patients and visitors.
- Curtains should be drawn in shared patient rooms.
- High-risk individuals should wear a mask at all times.
- Staff should wear a mask while caring for immunocompromised patients.
- Masks are required if the patient requests the provider wear one.
Seasonal Infection-Prevention Recommendations
- Vaccinate (when appropriate) to decrease the risk of severe disease or death.
- Wash your hands often.
- Do not come to work if you are sick. Speak with your doctor if you are sick.
