Dr. Frank Weinberg is a physician and researcher in the Division of Hematology & Oncology at UI Health. As a medical oncologist, Dr. Weinberg is focused on providing the best care for lung cancer patients, utilizing a shared decision-making approach between the patient, family, other providers, nurses, and doctors. He uses the latest scientific research and approved medications to individualize care for each patient. In his research, Dr. Weinberg focuses on improving outcomes for patients undergoing immunotherapy, with a particular interest in advancing the understanding of cancer biology and metabolism. As a member of the University of Illinois Cancer Center, his contributions to these fields have led to important discoveries that inform clinical practice. Under his leadership, UI Health’s lung cancer immunotherapy trials are establishing new benchmarks in cancer treatment, further advancing the standard of care in this area.
