The Sports Medicine Program at UI Health is led by internationally recognized physician Dr. Mark Hutchinson. Our team serves as editors and co-editors of major medical texts and brings decades of experience treating athletes at the highest levels, including multiple Olympic Games, Pan American Games, and professional sports organizations like USA Gymnastics and the Chicago Sky.

Sports Medicine Program in the News:
- Dr. Ankur Verma received the prestigious Golden Apple Teaching Award
- Dr. Yazdan Raji led the way to implementing patient reported outcome measures across all orthopaedics to optimize patient outcomes and participation in their care
- Dr. Sara Dychowski and Dr. Jon Kurjan expanded patient access to ultrasound guided treatments and biologic injections
- Over the last year, our faculty served as Lead Editor for three books, authored fourteen book chapters, and published fourteen peer-reviewed articles
