What Do Financial Counselors Do?

• Advocate for patients by identifying financial assistance options
• Help navigate medical costs, insurance coverage, and billing inquiries
• Assist with Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance applications
• Provide information on UI Health’s financial assistance programs
• Offer guidance on payment plans and cost-saving resources
• Connect patients with community programs for additional financial support
• Work closely with the healthcare team to ensure financial concerns do not delay or disrupt necessary medical care
